Virtual Fall Hide Work

You're welcome to join me for Virtual Fall Hide Work, the first virtual event as part of my 4-Season Moose Hide Tanning program.  This event will happen on Zoom on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m CDT.  I will share the work I do with fresh hides in the Fall to get them ready for frost scraping in the Winter.  I will present slides with text, images, videos, blab a lot about the hide work, and have time for questions from the participants.

Fall Hide Work I will be sharing about:

  • Skinning the hide off the animal
  • Soaking/rinsing the hide
  • Fleshing the hide
  • Shaving the hair off the hide
  • Cutting lacing holes into the hide
  • Stretching the hide on a frame to dry OR
  • Freezing the hide
  • Extracting brain and marrow fat
  • Tools and equipment used

This event is free and open to anyone who has access to the internet. Participants are to respect the space and people you're sharing it with.  This event will not be recorded.

Registration is closed. Registrants will receive zoom information by email at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022 (check your spam folder if you don't see it).  I won't be tracking down emails that bounce back to me or responding to messages about the zoom room prior to the event.

Thank you for your interest in learning about Fall Hide Work with me!  I hope you'll be able to join me for Winter Hide Work.
