Virtual Winter Hide Work

 Virtual Winter Hide Work

You are welcome to join me for Virtual Winter Hide Work, the second season of my virtual 4-Season Moose Hide Tanning program. This event will happen on Zoom on Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m CST.  This is a repeat of a session held in December 2022.  I will share the work I do with hides in the Winter, specifically frost scraping and freeze drying them.  I will present slides with text, images, videos, blab a lot about the hide work, and have time for questions from the participants.

Winter Hide Work I will be sharing about:

  • Hydrating prepped hide OR
  • Thawing prepped hide
  • Adding lacing holes
  • Stretching the hide on a frame and freezing
  • Scrape hair and grain
  • Scrape membrane
  • Thin hide
  • Freeze drying
  • Tools and equipment used

This event is intended for and free to individual learners. If you work with an organization and have a budget for teachings like this, please consider hiring me to present to your group.

Participants are to respect the space and people you're sharing it with. This event will not be recorded.

Registration for the January 19 session is closed. Registrants will receive the zoom information by email at 2 p.m. that day (check your spam folder if you don't see it). Please ensure the email you enter is correct. I won't be tracking down emails that bounce back to me or responding to messages about the zoom the day of the event.

If you registered for the December Virtual Winter Hide Work session I will email you the zoom information - you do not need to register for this date.  If you registered and did not receive zoom information, please get in contact with me prior to January 19 to troubleshoot.
